i don't just mean looking for something to try on or browsing through a site on-line, but also the process of trying them on and walking around in them to see if they fit right.

i don't, for a number of reasons;

#1 i'm a size 9 & that's fairly big for women's feet.

#2 said feet are also "wide width" & many shoes in your basic store (wal-mart, for example) don't have shoes in wide width, so i have to go to a 9 1/2 or a 10. or if they do have "wide width" available, it's sometimes not quite wide enough & i have to go to "wider width."

#3 i have a high top part of the foot (i forget what that's called) which makes it hard sometimes to get a good fitting shoe.

#4 i have thick calves, so most boots are out.

I'm a size 8 (UK) (42 Euro) and I find that nowadays I'm much more likely to be able to go into a shop and find something that fits me. When I was a schoolgirl with size 7 feet, it was very hard to find shoes that were comfortable, but it's getting better. Also there is a shop not far from here that hosts some fantastic footwear, and will order for me if they don't have my size in stock. Shoe shopping has improved greatly!

I have pretty good luck with shoes, but my calves are big enough that I have fit issues with boots sometimes too. I don't know how chicks are supposed to fit those things and still, you know, have muscles there.

I like shopping for shoes in general, although I don't like HAVING to shop for shoes, if that makes sense? I love going into a store and looking around and trying on stuff if it looks pretty; I hate needing a specific type of shoe - flats, loafers, sandals, boots, whatever - and having to find one that fits me that I like. As a woman with calf muscles (I used to be a long-distance runner) I also can't buy boots that don't lace. (WHO are these mysterious people with tiny calves that boots are made for? I DON'T KNOW. I don't know a single person who can just buy knee-high boots without problems.)

Even though I have all of the same issues that you do as well as wearing a size 10.5, I love shopping for shoes.

I think it's the fact that I love shoes *and* that I love shopping.

This, 100%. I wear a size 10, and boots are still too skinny for me.

I take a US 13 in OMFG wide with high insteps and comparatively narrow heels. I hate shoe shopping. My enjoyment of shoes is largely artistic appreciation because there are so few shoes that fit me, most of which are ugly, and all of them are uncomfortable and expensive. I love it when oxfords come back into style because I can raid the mens shoe department and actually get shoes that fit and are comfortable, sometimes.

Boots higher than a couple inches above the ankle bone are right out, they don't make boots for my calves even if they do manage to make a pair that might fit my feet.

I adore looking at all the pretty shoes but actually shopping for shoes can be a bit of a nightmare, especially with the fashion for skyscapers with peeptoes. I happen to have the misfortune of have wide feet, large calves, a very high instep and 'scrunchy' toes. Plus the added complication of not being able to feel my feet. So I tend to find a shoe that works and buy it for the next few years.

I usually like shopping for shoes. It's really some of the only apparel-related shopping that I do, because I never do come out of a shoe store with a lowered feeling of self-worth.
