I'm so conflicted

I fell in love with these shoes in the store and bought them.  Then I got them home and felt very "meh" about them.  I put them in the car to return them.  Yesterday, I had on an outfit and thought, "Oh, those shoes in the car would go great with this outfit!"  So I think that I am keeping them. 

*headdesk*  Shoes.  They shouldn't be so complicated.

They shouldn't be, but they always are. I can see these working for a few different types of outfits, most heading towards an upscale, slightly reserved feeling outfit.

I agree. I think they would be perfect when I go to the symphony/Argentine tango performance next weekend. The thing is, I'm not an "upscale, slightly reserved" woman. I'm more fringe.

They're just very situational, totally awesome for those situations (symphony, gallery showings), but not so much for anything else. I also know very few who are an 'upscale, slightly reserved' woman. Just a couple who pull it off when needed.

If you don't have a pair for those occasions already, keep 'em. If you do, unless you're head over heels for 'em, return time.

Another question then. Do you think this style is going to be ok in a few years? If I am only going to wear them a few times a year (if that), then I don't want them to be shoes that I can only wear for a year or two.

I think (I'm not an expert) it'll last around 2-3 years worth of being in-style. Probably more.

The color isn't out there, it's a good shade. The heel height looks to be in the nice mid-range that's omni-present. The detail has a simple appeal that isn't linked to any particular fashion. It doesn't scream couture or a high fashion that changes by season either.

Those look like they were made to be worn with a sexy librarian look as well as the sort of things you referred to upthread. If they're comfy, keep them. :)

Keep them! They're adorable! I have nothing to wear them with, which is true of many of the shoes I buy. But then I find something in my closet I forgot I had or bring something home and Bingo! there you go.
