I've been lurking in the community for a while, and today I thought I'd post a few pictures of shoes in the wild. Another idea I had is to photograph shoes where I work: I'm a floor nurse in a hospital, and it's a study in what shoes everyone thinks are most comfortable.

These shoes sort of stabbed me in the eye. Found them at a shoe store called Journeys in our local mall, but I don't have a brand for you. Someone more knowledgeable than me might know what that logo is.

These shoes are my childhood, come back to haunt me. Oh 80s...I wish you'd stay in the 80s. This is my BFF
quiara oggling the shoe here, still in Journeys.

We decided that the right person with the right outfit might be able to pull these off and not look like Minne Mouse had decided to take up prostitution...but I haven't met that person yet. No brand, again at Journeys.

When I win the lottery, I am buying these for my friend
starry_midnight because these shoes look exactly like her personality. Chuck Taylors by Converse in Journeys.

These boots are on my legs. This may not seem like such a big deal to many of you, but I am a size 16 and as I said earlier: a hospital floor nurse. I have thick calves(and rather nicely shaped, if I do say so myself), and no knee boots have EVER zipped up over them--until these. These are Naturalizer boots, and I got them at the outlet in Allen, Texas. I was so insane when I found they zipped that I bought 2 pairs: one black & one brown (though my brown is called "coffee" & is much darker than the "taupe" shown on the website). Bonus points: they're comfortable! I can actually wear them all day & not die!
