Wallpaper has been an uncommon choice in Canada for about two decades now. I think this is mostly do to the cost and the amount of labour involved, but I don't see it much even in high-end design magazines that cater to people who presumably could afford it. It's all paint, paint, paint.
My computer used to be full of pictures of wallpapered interiors - I photograph the wallpaper whenever I visit historic buildings. Unfortunately, I lost those files during a crash last year.
Hahaha :D I took pictures of the wallpapers in my house before I started renovating it (it hadn't been altered since late 50's, early 60's)
This is a picture of my bathroom wallpaper, clearly I had to save a piece to frame as a nostalgia picture. (keep clicking on the right side and you'll see more of the old wallpapers) Unfortunately a lot of them are worn and dirty so I need to remove them. But I love the green wallpaper in my hallway (tapet-hall) so I'm kinda sad I'm going to have to change it.
Here it's the other way around, design magazines have pictures of expensive wallpapers and all-white-rooms besides one wall of crazy wallpaper. I wish I could afford the crazy prices, but for one wall as an accent wall I tend to splurge. I used to have this in my apartement (and it was only a rented one so now someone else gets to use it for free) (it's from Midbec's collection Imagine)
Beautiful!
